Director of Operations, ISIS Services, LLC
"I completed the DHSc program in August 2005 and have never regretted it since. In fact, the DHSc has opened so many doors in industry, education and consulting that I find myself choosing between opportunities.
In the same month that I finished, I began a full time Assistant Professor position in the School of Nursing at Dominican University. Having the DHSc qualified me to advance to teaching in the MSN program and it fulfilled a tenure requirement of achieving the doctorate. After three years of teaching full time, I have switched to adjunct in order to free up time to pursue other opportunities. I also teach as an Adjunct Professor in the PA/MPH program at Touro University, and have done curriculum development projects for the Doctor of Health Sciences program at Argosy University online. This fall I will be teaching online for California State East Bay's new Health Sciences program online. The program began a few years ago and is expanding rapidly due to the demand for health science programs as students see health as a viable career and this degree as an alternative to a clinical role in the industry.
My full time job is as the Director of Operations at ISIS Services, LLC headquarters facility in Berkeley CA. We have a satellite surgical research facility in San Carlos as well. The DHSc has provided me with a level of credibility in the research industry that 15 previous years as an RN in surgical services (with an MBA) did not."

The program provided me with an opportunity to interface with healthcare professionals throughout the country. I was able to network with fellow professors and discuss effective means to impact nursing students."

"The DHSc enabled me to advance to the position of Director of Perioperative Services at a mid-size Baylor hospital (230 +40 beds under construction, nine operating rooms, featuring Bariatrics, Open Heart, and Robotic GYN service lines) near Dallas Texas. It is a wonderful place to work where I continue to learn best practice and enjoy a vital, patient-centered atmosphere. We are engaged in several evidence-based quality projects and excel in patient satisfaction scores. I am convinced that having my Doctorate in Health Science made the difference in my being chosen for this responsibility."

Chief Executive Officer
Westchester General Hospital, Inc.
"I cannot discuss the effect the degree had on my present career as I already was in the CEO position when starting the DHS program. From a professional and personal perspective the degree serves as "validation" of the knowledge I acquired over a 30 year career. The MDs and DOs on our Medical Staff (and on the national committees I serve) call me "Dr. Baldwin" even though I introduce myself as "Gilda".
