The Office of Student Affairs within the Nova Southeastern University's Dr. Pallavi Patel College of Health Care Sciences is committed to our students' overall success from admission through graduation, and beyond.

All PCHCS students are assigned an advisor within the program that helps them succeed academically and professionally. 

Advisors help their students thrive in the following ways:

  • Academic Progress
    • Meet regularly to help chart progress related to goals, study plans, as well as ways to help improve your academic performance. 
    • Talk through and resolve any challenges as they arise.
 
  • Career Advising and Professional Development
    • As providers in their fields, your advisors are a great resource to get a window into what it takes to be successful as a practicing clinician.
    • Assist with preparation for clinical rotations and beyond.
    • Connect you with professional associations that offer networking opportunities.
    • Offer meaningful advice and insight into the clinical world and all elements of effective patient care.

Beginning prior to Orientation and continuing throughout the curriculum, students in the Dr. Pallavi Patel College of Health Care Sciences haves access to many programs and services aimed at helping them succeed. 

Our Student Success Canvas Course in particular offers a wealth of modules designed by students for students that focus on skills that we know students will need to be successful, including:

  • Building Resiliency and Defining Community
  • Succeeding in the Classroom
  • What's Next...Looking Ahead to the Future

Throughout the course of your program, the College of Health Care Sciences offers student success coaching designed to offer you resources and 1-1 support to help you progress academically. These sessions are designed to help you create a study plan that works for your situation, test-taking strategies, and much more!
