Physician Assistant Program - Ft. Myers

Welcome to the fully accredited Physician Assistant Program - Ft. Myers! Part of Nova Southeastern University's College of Health Care Sciences, this PA Program is the only PA Program on the southwest coast of Florida. The program is housed in a state of the art, 60,000 square foot facility, in Ft. Myers, Florida. It is conveniently located at exit 136 (Colonial Boulevard) off of I-75 in Fort Myers.

The PA Department is also pleased to offer a PA/MPH Concurrent Degree Program providing an opportunity for students to attain an MPH degree in addition to the entry-level Master of Medical Science Physician Assistant degree. Information regarding this opportunity can be reviewed here

The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) has granted Accreditation - Continued to the Nova Southeastern University Physician Assistant Program in Fort Myers, Florida sponsored by Nova Southeastern University. Continued accreditation is an accreditation status granted when a currently accredited program is in compliance with the ARC-PA Standards.

Continued accreditation remains in effect until the program closes or withdraws from the accreditation process or until accreditation is withdrawn for failure to comply with the Standards. The approximate date for the next comprehensive review of the program by the ARC-PA will be March 2018.

The Physician Assistant (PA) Program Ft. Myers is based upon the successful model of the Fort Lauderdale program, which has been continuously accredited since its inception in 1993. The NSU PA Program Ft. Myers currently has 10 full time faculty members, including a full time Medical Director, and one shared faculty member who teaches basic sciences in the PA program and nursing programs. With a maximum enrollment of 60 students, the program is able to offer a low student to faculty ratio.

61 students graduated in August 2014 and we are happy to report a 93% first-time pass rate! There is currently a class of 57 students in the clinical phase of the program and there are 61 students in the academic phase of the program.
