Professional DPT Program - Fort Lauderdale Campus

Application Procedures

The Professional Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at Nova Southeastern University participates in the Physical Therapist Centralized Application Service (PTCAS) for admission. The PTCAS may take up to 6 weeks for verifying supporting documents. Therefore, early application is highly recommended. 

To apply, follow the procedures below:

  1. Complete the online PTCAS application between July 15 and December 15. All applicants to the Professional DPT program must apply online at https://portal.ptcas.org/.
  2. Mail all official transcripts to PTCAS at the address below (must be mailed directly from registrars office of the college or university) 
  3. Enter contact information (e mail preferred) for 3 professional references into PTCAS. Professional references are individuals other than relatives, such as academic instructors and professors, health professionals, work supervisors, or volunteer supervisors. 
  4. Request GRE scores be sent to PTCAS (NSU school code is 7741) or sent directly to NSU at the address below:
    • Nova Southeastern University

      Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33329
    • NOTE: GRE scores must be less than 5 years old
  5. Once the PTCAS application has been received by Nova Southeastern University, a supplemental application will be made available online. Please follow the instructions to complete and submit the supplemental application and fee by January 31. (NOTE: Applicants can apply to the Tampa Program, Fort Lauderdale Program, or both programs.

What happens after I apply?

Once NSU receives the PTCAS application, supplemental application, and $50 application fee, your file will be reviewed by the admissions counselor. If you are missing any requiremed application materials, the admissions counselor will contact you. Upon receipt of the completed application and required credentials, the Committee on Admissions will review the application. The Committee on Admissions may or may not require a phone or personal interview. An invitation to appear for an interview should not be construed by the applicant as evidence of acceptance. Applicants will be notified of the Committee on Admissions decision via the admissions counselor.
