Mrs. Gillespie has experience treating the birth to three population through the Illinois Early Intervention Program, as well as treating pediatric patients in a large outpatient hospital setting, with specialization is motor planning disorders and oral-motor/feeding disorders. She has also served as the SLP on a medical diagnostic team, as well as provided supervision for graduate students in their externship placements. Mrs. Gillespie currently serves as a clinic director at Elmhurst University and has worked as a clinical supervisor for graduate students, as well as teaching a variety of graduate-level courses at Nova Southeastern University, including Speech Sound Disorders, Communication Disorders: Infancy-Preschool, Clinical Processes, and clinical lab courses. She participated in a number of departmental committees, including admissions, inter- and intra-professional development, succession planning, and faculty evaluation. Mrs. Gillespie has also completed training in The SOS Approach to Feeding, SOFFI (“Supporting Oral Feeding in Fragile Infants”) Method, Beckman Oral Motor, Kaufman Speech to Language Protocol, Picture Exchange Communication System, and LAMP (Language Acquisition through Motor Planning) Training. Mrs. Gillespie participated in the Lisa Scott Leadership Academy through CAPCSD and is a graduate of the Leadership Development Program through ASHA. Mrs. Gillespie has presented research in the area of student supervision at the American Speech and Hearing Association convention, as well as local presentations related to language disorders and literacy. She is a member of the American Speech and Hearing Association, as well as an active member of SIG 11: Administration & Supervision.
