Research: Dr. Chandregowda received interdisciplinary training (audiology/hearing-science, cognitive neuroscience, and speech-language pathology) during his Ph.D. studies at the University of South Florida (USF) wherein his research endeavors were primarily rooted in basic science related to neuromotor control and response monitoring. During his two-year postdoctoral clinical fellowship in medical SLP in the Department of Neurology, Mayo Clinic (Minnesota), he served close to 1000 patients with various speech, language and cognitive-communication concerns and developed a passion for clinical research.
His research areas include SLP service implementation issues in the inpatient setting; understanding the neuroscience of speech, language, and auditory mechanisms by studying pertinent clinical population; and optimum classification of acquired neurogenic based communication deficits to facilitate relevant assessment, neurological differential diagnosis and management.
