Education
Dr. Olivencia earned his bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of California, Davis, a Master's degree in Physical Therapy from Nova Southeastern University (NSU), and a Doctor of Physical Therapy from A.T. Still University.
Teaching
Dr. Olivencia serves as the course leader for Clinical Applications of Anatomy (PHT 5610) and Exercise Physiology (PHT 6705). He is also the co-leader for the Musculoskeletal courses in the NSU Professional DPT program (PHT 6810, PHT 6820, and PHT 6821) and a lab instructor for Anatomy for Rehabilitation Professionals (PHT 5420).
Scholarly Activities and Interests
Dr. Olivencia's research interests lie in the fields of Orthopedics and Exercise Physiology. His clinical focus is in the areas of lower extremity and cranial mandibular disorders. Dr. Olivencia regularly publishes and presents on topics related to exercise physiology and orthopedics. Additionally, each year, he coordinates and participates in medical outreach trips to the island of Puerto Rico.
Areas of Practice
Dr. Olivencia is a practicing clinician at the Outpatient Rehabilitation Clinic on NSU's campus and serves as a Clinical Instructor for the Clinical Practicum course series.
