Dr. Jonathan Caplan was raised in New York. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Connecticut in 1999. He then went on to receive dual Master’s Degrees at the University of Central Florida in 2002. After spending two years as a high school science teacher, he attended Barry University where he received his Master of Clinical Medical Sciences to become a Physician Assistant in 2006. In December of 2020 he received his Doctor of Medical Science degree from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions.
Dr. Caplan brings many years of clinical experience. Over his years as a Physician Assistant, he has worked in cardiac electrophysiology, invasive cardiology and hospital medicine. He has also served as an Office Manager in a busy cardiology practice, utilizing his background in health administration. He became a full-time faculty member of the Nova Southeastern University PA program in Orlando as an Assistant Professor in August 2018.
When he's not lecturing or seeing patients, he enjoys spending time with his son Eli, as well as CrossFit, cooking, movies and games.
