Assistant Professor - Physician Assistant

Professor Elwaya started her career in the Israeli Defense Forces as a staff sergeant with the Israeli border patrol and became the recipient of the 2nd Lebanon War Combat Medal. After moving to the United States, professor Elwaya received her undergraduate degree in neuropsychology with a minor in biology from the University of Colorado Denver in 2015. She graduated from The George Washington University in Washington DC with her Master of Science in Health Sciences in Physician Assistant Studies in 2019.  Following graduation, she was accepted into the Emergency Department APP residency program at Johns Hopkins Medical Center in 2019.   She served as chief resident and stayed on to become full time staff in March of 2021.   The same year, she passed her NCCPA CAQ Boards in Emergency Medicine. Professor Elwaya moved to Jacksonville in 2023 after accepting a staff position at Mayo Clinic Emergency Department.
