Professor Sophie Shpritz is originally from northern New Jersey. She completed her undergraduate education with a Bachelors in Science in International Business with a minor in French from The College of New Jersey. She completed her medical training at The Weill Cornell Graduate School Master of Science in Health Sciences for Physician Assistants in 2013, one of two primary surgical PA programs in the country.
Upon graduating, she moved to Maryland where she completed a fellowship in Emergency Medicine. For the next 7 years, she worked in the Emergency Department providing care for patients with a large variety of medical conditions. She transitioned into Vascular Surgery in 2020, managing patients in both the outpatient and inpatient settings. She values the continuity of care she was able to have between the hospital and office setting. Sophie was also accepted into the Physician Assistant Section of the Society for Vascular Surgeons.
Sophie and her family relocated to South Florida in 2022. She began with adjunct teaching before deciding to pursue a full-time career in education. Professor Shpritz joined Nova Southeastern University’s PA program in January of 2023. She is excited to educate PA students and to guide them through the PA program. In her free time, Sophie likes to spend time with her husband, two kids, and their French Bulldog.
