Professor Amon joined the PA program as an assistant professor in 1997. She was the Clinical Director for four years and served as the Associate Department Chair / Assistant Program Director from 2001 - 2008. Now an Adjunct Assistant Professor, she lectures on a variety of topics in the Physical Diagnosis course, the Clinical Medicine and Surgery courses, and on PA professional issues along with a number of other administrative and teaching responsibilities.
She is currently a reviewer for the Internet Journal of Health Sciences and was a test item writer for PACKRAT from 2001-2004. In 2004 she was a contributing author for My Pocket Mentor, published by Delmar-Thomson Learning.
Prior to her tenure at Nova Southeastern University, she worked as a Physician Assistant in cardiology and family medicine for eight years.
Ms. Amon graduated with a BS degree from the Saint Francis College PA Program, Loretto, PA in 1989. She earned a Master of Science in Medical Science from Alderson-Broaddus College, Philippi, WV in 1995.
In recognition of her contributions to the NSU Physician Assistant Department, and to the professional in general, Professor Amon was elected in 2007 to Pi Alpha, the National Honor Society for Physician Assistants.
