Associate Professor, Occupational Therapy - Ft. Lauderdale

Since 2003, I have been a dedicated occupational therapist specializing in adult and older adult populations across diverse clinical settings, including outpatient, inpatient rehabilitation, acute care, and ICU. My clinical expertise includes lymphedema management, ergonomics, and aging in place interventions. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy (BSOT) from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia and a post-professional Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (OTD) from Creighton University in Omaha.

Since transitioning to academia in 2012, my research has focused on pedagogy, the integration of standardized patients in OT education, and interprofessional education to enhance clinical preparation for OT students. I have actively contributed to the occupational therapy community through my service on the Nevada Licensure Board in OT and the Nevada Occupational Therapy Association. Additionally, I have partnered with Rebuilding Together in the Las Vegas area, providing OT home evaluations and home modifications to support seniors in need of fall prevention strategies.

Outside of work, I prioritize occupational balance by seeking out new experiences — from traveling to new destinations and savoring diverse cuisines to catching live music and spending quality time with friends and my dog.
