Dear Class of 2027,
Welcome to Nova Southeastern University’s Doctor of Audiology program!
On behalf of the faculty and staff of the Department of Audiology, I would like to congratulate you on your admission and enrollment and extend a warm welcome. You have taken the first step towards a rewarding and challenging career in audiology. We are committed to providing you with the highest quality academic and clinical foundation that will make you a leader in the profession. We take pride in the ability to offer you superior didactic instruction and diverse clinical opportunities that will culminate with your graduation as Doctors of Audiology. For your part as a professional student, we expect hard work, commitment and dedication to your studies. Your journey to becoming an AuD has begun.
The faculty and I are looking forward to seeing you again at orientation and working with you over the course of your studies. Orientation will begin at 8:30 am on Monday May 13, 2024 at the Health Professions Division in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Your contact person for orientation and other program related questions is the academic support coordinator for the audiology department (954-262-7745), Mrs. Melissa Lawton. Please carefully review all orientation documents provided on this webpage to ensure that you meet all requirements.
Of prime importance are the immunization and physical examination forms. These requirements must be met before entry into the program, or shortly thereafter. Since some immunizations have a time element (e.g. Hepatitis B), so you should begin planning now. You will have contact with patients during the first year and cannot proceed without the completion of these requirements. Questions regarding the upload of mandatory immunization and physical examination forms to our tracking system can be directed to the Office of Student Affairs, 954-262-1299.
Once again, congratulations and welcome! If I can be of any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
Erica B. Friedland, Au.D., FAAA
