Ms. Brown’s research interests include applied research and instructional practices for struggling readers from racial and ethnic minority backgrounds, both bilingual and African American Vernacular English (AAVE/AAE) as well as creole-lexified speakers in the area of reading and writing development. She is also interested in CRT and DisCrit and their applications for minority ESE students/SWSCDs. Ms. Brown is currently pursuing a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction, with a specialization in Reading, Literacy and Cognition.
