Veronica Victorian is a proud alumnus of Nova Southeastern University, Fort Myers campus class of 2010. Veronica has always proven to be a leader in everything she does. As a student, she served as Vice-President of her class while simultaneously wearing the hat as wife and mother. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology Exercise Science at the University of Houston in 2000. She started her career at Texas Children's Hospital as a Pediatric Exercise Specialist for 7 years prior to relocating to Florida for a graduate education as a Physician Assistant.
She has come full circle and now is an integral team member in the Department of Pediatric Surgery at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston, Texas. In her short career, she has had many outstanding accomplishments including her active involvement in research and clinical outcomes for evidence based practice (EBP). Last year alone, she had 4 IRB approved research projects including 4 abstracts and 3 poster presentations. Veronica did this all while managing patients full time. She is a mentor and preceptor for PA students from across the country. She was appointed as faculty for Baylor College of Medicine and adjunct faculty at Rocky Mountain College after her first year as a Physician Assistant. Recently, her colleagues selected her as Physician Assistant of the Year for Texas Children's Hospital from an impressive group of contenders. "It is truly humbling and an honor to receive this award…as I simply try to do my best and could not do this without my team" she stated as she received her award. Veronica was the first PA on the Pediatric Surgery team at the hospital. She has been a pioneer for the Department and the hospital for the PA profession. She is now leading a large team of PAs in the Pediatric Surgery Department.
