Professor Mecaj received his undergraduate degree in Microbiology and Cell Science from the University of Florida and completed his PA training at Nova Southeastern University in Jacksonville where he earned a Master of Medical Science degree. He has worked as a physician assistant in urgent care and family medicine. He is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants.
Professor Mecaj has been living in the Jacksonville area since 1997. When he is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family, travelling, watching international films, and learning about new cultures. He is very happy to be a member of the faculty at the university where he completed his PA training and considers it an honor to contribute to the future of the PA profession through education.
