Professor Litzler was born and raised in Michigan. She received her first undergraduate degree in Business Management from Western Michigan University in 2007. After graduating, Carmen relocated to Southwest Florida where she attended Hodges University, and received her second undergraduate degree in Health Sciences.
In 2011 Carmen graduated from Nova Southeastern University PA Program, receiving her Master of Medical Science degree. She then focused her career in Pediatrics, working in Pediatric Primary care in Port Charlotte, Fl, for four years.
In 2016 Carmen transitioned from Pediatric Primary Care to Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Golisano Children’s Hospital of SWFL. Throughout her career she enjoyed precepting PA students which sparked her love for teaching. She started teaching at Nova Southeastern University Summer of 2020 which led to a full-time faculty position as Clinical Director.
When Carmen is not working, she enjoys spending time with her son and family on her farm. In extended time off she enjoys spending time with her family in Michigan and Taiwan.
