Mrs. Melissa Morris is an expert in simulation for healthcare education. She joined the Dr. Pallavi Patel College of Healthcare Sciences (PPCHCS) Professional Development Education team in 2018. She serves an integral role in supporting and developing the college’s simulation activities, which utilize simulated patient, and computerized mannequins as real world examples to educated allied health professionals.

Prior to joining the PPCHCS, Mrs. Morris was the Clinical Manager of Human Patient Simulation and Skills for the College Nursing at Nova Southeastern University on the Fort Lauderdale campus. In that role she was responsible for supporting the simulation activities, and faculty in healthcare simulation education.

Mrs. Morris received her bachelor’s degree in marketing from Curry College in Milton, Massachusetts, bachelors of Science in nursing at Barry University in Miami and her Master of Science in nursing with a from Nova Southeastern University. She holds certification Simulation Healthcare Education and Pediatric Nursing.

Before beginning her career in academia, Mrs. Morris had her own legal nurse consulting business, and worked in the home health industry as the nurse in an infusion pharmacy and as a Director of Nursing for a home health agency. She began her career as a staff and home health nurse in the greater Hartford, Connecticut area concentrating on infusion therapies and pediatric oncology.
