Todd King, Ph.D., RRT, CHES, CPFT

Assistant Professor, Cardiopulmonary Sciences

Dr. King matriculated from Georgia State University with his Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy and has been working in the field since 1993.  He acquired his Master of Art in Education as the Pediatric Pulmonary Center’s Respiratory Trainee at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and also earned his PhD in Health Education and Health Promotion from UAB.  His experience encompasses in-facility work with neonatal, pediatric, and adult intensive care units, trauma, certified burn centers and pulmonary function testing; as well as intra-facility work with critical care transport on rotor wing and fixed wing aircraft for neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients.  In addition, his prior experience includes management, Respiratory Therapy Education Coordinator, and university faculty positions.  His current research is in the education of students utilizing simulation scenarios with hifidelity mannequin simulators.
