POLICY & PURPOSE

The PCHCS Community Outreach Committee coordinates, promotes, and develops health-related outreach efforts to underserved communities inside and outside the United States. The committee was established to further the college’s commitment to serving the underserved and to engage PCHCS faculty and students in actively strengthening and supporting such initiatives. Such enterprises create service opportunities for faculty and students by identifying resources and interests and brokering successful matches. The committee encourages support through volunteer and philanthropic initiatives, and seeks to enhance college and university awareness of these efforts. The work of the committee is also to review and analyze current outreach strategies and determine effectiveness and potential for continuation or enhancement, evaluate and explore opportunities of potential partnerships, and identify sources for resource acquisition to assist with funding of various outreach efforts.
