c)  The electrodes are used to measure the
signals coming from the head.  It is a good
idea to call them "measuring electrodes" when
speaking with patients, as some patients may
fear that the electrodes could send a shock
to them.  (There are safety requirements with
the ABR systems that ensure that this can't
happen.)
