Doctor Bolton earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biological Sciences from SUNY Binghamton, in Binghamton, New York. She went on to earn her Masters of Science in Education with Advanced Certification in Guidance and Counseling from CUNY Brooklyn College, in Brooklyn New York. She has worked as a teacher for one of New York City's public school and then went on to be that school's Guidance Counselor for a number of years before moving to Florida in 2001.

Motivated by her undying desire to study medicine, she left her career in education to attend Nova Southeastern University, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and earned both a Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant Studies and a Masters of Medical Science degree in 2004. After graduation, she gained her clinical experience as a physician assistant in Family Medicine, Cardiology and Internal Medicine.

Dr. Bolton came full circle when she joined the faculty at the Physician Assistant Program at Nova Southeastern University--Jacksonville in September, 2013. Prior to becoming the Program Director in March of 2017, she served as the Academic Director and an Assistant Professor and is combining her love for medicine and education to assist the Program in preparing students to be competent, confident, compassionate physician assistants. She strongly believes in academic excellence and professional growth and completed a Doctorate in Education with a concentration in Organizational Leadership at Nova Southeastern University in 2018.

She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants. She has volunteered in various church organizations where she has coordinated and developed programs, workshops and seminars for adolescents, women and families. One of her most rewarding volunteer experiences was with Your Best Pathway to Health, a service of the Adventist-laymen's Services and Industries, in San Antonio, Texas where free healthcare was provided to 6,192 underserved patients without health insurance.

Doctor Bolton enjoys spending time with family and friends, writing, reading, and developing blogs.
