Physician Assistant Program - Fort Lauderdale

Faculty & Staff

Angela Mesa-Taylor, MPAS, PA-C

Angela MesaProfessor Mesa-Taylor became faculty of the Nova Southeastern PA program in March of 2009. She joins us with 7 years of varied clinical experience. Her first position was a short stint in Pediatric Surgery at Miami Children's Hospital. This was followed by 4 years in ENT and most recently 3 years in general Pediatrics with a large south Florida group where she still practices per diem.

Mrs. Mesa-Taylor graduated in 1999 from the University of Miami with a bachelor's in Health Science and received her masters in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Florida in 2002. She seeks to further her education with a Doctorate in Clinical Health Psychology through Nova Southeastern within the next few years.

Realizing her desire to not only treat but educate her patients Mrs. Mesa-Taylor decided to enter the world of academia. She became adjunct faculty teaching Anatomy and Physiology lab at BCC central campus in 2006 to freshman with little to no healthcare interest. This experience sparked in her a desire to teach students who have a passion for medicine and a respect for the physician assistant role. This led her to the wonderful opportunity to become faculty at Nova in the PA program.

Professor Mesa-Taylor looks forward to teaching students not only about the science of medicine but also the art of patient care. Professor Mesa-Taylor, a native Floridian, resides is south Florida with her husband, an NSU alum and former basketball player and her menagerie of dogs. In her spare time she enjoys dog rescue, reading, the ocean and spending time with her nieces.
