  • Occupational therapy is listed in the Top Ten Least Stressful Jobs, according to Money and Payscale.com. It is also ranked 14 out of 50 on the best Jobs in America (cnnmoney.com, 2010).
  • The US Department of Labor Statistics predicts that job growth in occupational therapy is much faster than average, with a projected increase of 26 percent between 2008 and 2018, especially for jobs working with the elderly.
  • Occupational therapy also ranks among the top 25 best paying jobs for college graduates aged 20-29. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median annual income in 2009 for occupational therapists was $69,000 per year depending upon the type of facility and the geographic location of the job (US Department of Labor, May 2009).
