Program Director’s Message

Thank you for your interest in Nova Southeastern University and the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Health Science.  NSU is in the top five large, private, nonprofit universities in the Southeast, with a long history of expertise and excellence in distance education. NSU is the 8th largest not-for-profit, private university in the U.S.

The Ph.D. in Health Sciences degree was designed to prepare experts in academic or medical research. Our students go on to teaching in academic institutions and excelling in clinical research careers.  Students are prepared by experts in the field and are taught in the spirit of fostering inquiry, leadership, and creative professional activity. The program also teaches students to conduct research in a complex, culturally diverse society with an eye toward health policy.

The curriculum was designed to prepare future leaders in health science research. Thus, the curriculum is regularly updated to meet the demands of rigorous academic research among our students.

The program was created in January 2010 and has stood the test of time. We appreciate your interest and encourage you to consider advancing your career through further study in health sciences.

Once again, thank you for your interest in the Ph.D. in Health Science program.
