Brenda J. Van Hoose has worked at Nova Southeastern University for more than 20 years. In 1996, she started as a temporary worker in the NSU Office of Developing and Planning for two months. Because of her outstanding workmanship, the NSU Fischler College of Education hired her permanently on October 10, 1996. Van Hoose worked for the Fischler College of Education for 19 years, serving as a coordinator for skylight professional development and as an administrator for the master’s and educational specialist degree programs. She was heavily involved in student engagement, recruitment, and faculty management, and served as a dedicated mentor to the students throughout their college experience.
In 2015, Van Hoose transferred to the NSU College of Health Care Sciences, where she serves as the assistant director in the Office of Student Affairs. Her professional roles in the student affairs office include serving as managing editor of Perspectives magazine and manager of the Community Collaborative Database. She also supports and assists with student events.
