Katheryn Knutson, DHSc, PA-C

After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Stetson University in 1996, Katheryn entered the Physician Assistant program at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She completed an additional Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant Studies in 1998 while continuing ongoing coursework for her Masters of Medical Science, which was completed in 2005. Upon graduation with her degree and licensure as a Physician Assistant in 1998, she began her career in neurosurgery. She remained in this specialty until 2011 at which point she began working in general and vascular surgery. Fortunately, this change allowed her to continue her schooling as she entered into the Doctor of Health Science program at NSU. Her love for neurosurgery drew her back in 2013 and fortunately, the work schedule did not deter her continued education. She completed her Doctor of Health Science in 2014. With a love for teaching which started with an adjunct position in 2005, she progressed to a full-time assistant professor in December 2014. She continues to remain active in clinical practice in emergency medicine.
